What are those little crystals in your Pet-Zazz?

You may occasionally notice small, harmless crystals in your bottle of SOLI Pet-Zazz, sometimes on the base or in the wine itself. These are simply tartrate crystals, a completely natural occurrence in wine, often nicknamed "wine diamonds" by winemakers.

Tartrates form from naturally occurring tartaric acid in grapes. As Pet-Zazz completes its fermentation right in the bottle and is bottled with minimal intervention, it doesn't go through the cold stabilisation process that many commercial wines use to strip these crystals out before release.

This is very much in keeping with how we make wine at Churchview. As a Certified Organic and SWA (Sustainable Winegrowing Australia) certified estate, we take a hands-off, low-intervention approach wherever we can, letting the fruit and the process speak for themselves. Seeing the odd tartrate crystal is simply a sign of that philosophy in your glass.

Rest assured, they're completely safe, tasteless, and part of the natural charm of a genuinely minimally processed wine. Give the bottle a gentle swirl before pouring if you'd like to avoid seeing them.
