Description
Marsanne is one of the rarest grape varieties in the world. The grapes produce a wonderfully delicate aromatic wine that for generations has been highly sought after by the aristocracy and the most discerning connoisseurs. The grapes were hand picked in the cool morning hours and fermented using traditional methods under carefully controlled conditions. Maturation in French barriques for a short period has given the wine a wonderful complex aroma and palate. The aromas are of honeysuckle and lemon blossom, with some nutty apricot notes. the palate has a delicate complexity of gooseberry, lychee, lemon meringue and figs, underpinned by modest savoury oak. The acidity is quite gentle, fresh and clean.
